Terms of Service
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using DocClarify, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. These terms apply to all users on all platforms — web and mobile.
Description of Service
DocClarify is an AI-powered document analysis tool providing risk scoring, plain-English summaries, red/green flag identification, key term explanations, PII detection, loan breakdowns, and negotiation playbooks for uploaded documents.
DocClarify is not a law firm, financial advisor, medical provider, or any licensed professional service. Nothing produced constitutes legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before acting on any document analysis.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using DocClarify, you represent that you are 18 or older and have full legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized account access.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use DocClarify to:
- Upload documents containing illegal content or content that violates third-party rights
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service
- Upload malware, viruses, or any malicious code
- Circumvent any access controls or security measures
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Resell or commercially redistribute the Service without authorization
Payments and Subscriptions
DocClarify offers a free tier (one analysis), a monthly subscription ($9.99/month), and pay-per-document pricing ($1.49/document). All payments are processed by Stripe.
Monthly subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the renewal date via the billing portal in your account. No refunds for partial months. Pay-per-document purchases are non-refundable once analysis is delivered.
AI Analysis — No Guarantee of Accuracy
AI analysis is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or applicable to your specific situation. DocClarify may miss important clauses, mischaracterize provisions, or fail to account for jurisdiction-specific laws. A risk score is an estimate, not a definitive judgment.
By using DocClarify, you expressly acknowledge these limitations and agree that you are solely responsible for any decisions made based on the analysis provided.
Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to documents you upload. By uploading, you grant DocClarify a limited, temporary license to process that document solely to deliver the analysis. Documents are deleted from our servers immediately after analysis completes.
The DocClarify name, logo, website, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You use the Service entirely at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCCLARIFY AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50.00.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DocClarify and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We reserve the right to terminate access for any violation of these Terms without notice. Upon termination, your access to the Service ends immediately.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.
